Dialogue between Secretary-general of China-Africa Industrial Forum Cheng Zhigang and General Pape Khalilo Fall, Senegal's ambassador to China

On April 28, 2011 morning, Secretary-General Cheng Zhigang of China Africa Industrial Forum went to Senegal Embassy in China and had a dialogue with Senegal Ambassador to China General Pape Khalilou FAll.

Senegal Embassy in China attached great importance to visit of Secretary-General Cheng. Ambassador, Second Commercial Counselor Amadou FALL and Commercial Counselor’s assistant etc., who warmly welcomed the Secretary-General’s arrival and specially prepared green tea.

Ambassador: We welcome your visit and I thought China Africa Industrial Forum is a very organization. I am very interested in Secretary-General’s introduction.

Secretary-General: First of all, thanks very much for the warm reception of Ambassador. China Africa Industrial Forum is guided by Stated-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. China Industrial Cooperation Association combine all areas in the two countries to set up China-Africa Industrial Forum. China Africa Industrial Forum. The forum has received the support from Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, China Development Bank, China National Light Industry Council, The Chinese-African People’s Friendship Association, China Western Development Promotion Association and more than 40 African embassies in China, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and more than 20 international organizations from establishment.

Ambassador: from establishment of forum to now, what’s the forum’s activities and forum’s achievements?

The first China-Africa Industrial Forum has been held successfully in Beijing China National Convention Center from November 21,2009 to November 23,2009. The China-Africa leaders, experts in the fields, representatives of enterprises deeply discussed the topic on China-Africa further cooperation and development, including industry, energy, mineral, electronic, science, technology and construction etc. at the same time, they made analyses and explanations on China-Africa bilateral trade policies, management strategy of China-Africa investment environment, the popular African investments and procurements projects from Chinese enterprises. The forum has won the extensive praises from China-Africa all fields. The procured products amounts of China and Africa reached about 3 billion dollars. The signed investment and procurement projects were more than 100.

On November 30, 2010, our forum successfully held 2010 African Energy and Mineral Seminar.  this seminar has also been supported by African ambassador to China. Nearly 20 African diplomatic envoys attended the seminar.

Currently, We are now editing a book called "Walk into Africa -- China-Africa New Opportunities of Business", which is a business guide major aiming at Chinese investors. We hope Chinese entrepreneurs further knowledge for Africa to guide investment in Africa. . This book is different from the else book that introduce Africa.

We visit Embassy in this time to build long-term exchange relationships with Senegal embassy in China. On the other hand, we also hope support of the Embassy to collect the latest materials  for the book.
