Dialogue between Secretary-general of China-Africa Industrial Forum Cheng Zhigang and Joseph M. Koroma, Sierra Leone's ambassador to China

On May 3, 2011, Secretary-General Cheng Zhigang of China Africa Industrial Forum had the deep talks with Sierra Leone Ambassador Joseph M • Koroma in Sierra Leone embassy to China. The main themes of the talks was centered on Chinese enterprises to investment in opportunities, the state of Sierra Leone, and "Walk into Africa -- China-Africa New Opportunities of Business • Dialogue with 49 African ambassadors in China" and the other related content. First, the Ambassador expressed his warm welcome for arrival of Secretary-General Cheng Zhigang, expressed his appreciation and support for China Africa Industrial Forum and invited the Secretary-General to attend related activities in Sierra Leone.

Ambassador: welcome to your arrival, as the Ambassador of Sierra Leone, I am pleased to introduce to you the investment environment of our country. I come to China this year. My task is to facilitate more effective cooperation and to truly realize economic development of Sierra Leone.

Secretary-General: Thank you for your invitation. I am pleased to visit the embassy. At present,  China Africa Industrial Forum is committed to vigorously develop economic and trade exchanges and cultural exchange. We plan annual strategic plan for trade and investment in Africa and organize Chinese enterprises investigate in African countries to visit. In 2009 we held the first China Africa Industrial Forum. On November 30, 2010, we held the 2010 African Energy and Mineral Seminar". In the second half of the year, we will hold the first China-Africa Investment and Trade Exposition .

Ambassador: As I just arrive in China, I didn’t participate in your seminar in last year. Sierra Leone is rich in natural resources and stable society environment.  Our state is orderly carrying out the economic development strategy. Please be sure to invite us in your next activities. We embassy will actively participate in your activities.

Secretary-General: Sierra Leone's policy, the situation, all economy aspects have made very good fruits. I hope we can have close contact and carry out concrete cooperation projects in the future. China Africa industrial Forum has many strategic cooperative enterprises which are inspected by our forum’s experts. From the point of investment, the enterprises’ integrity is very good.

Ambassador: That's fine, many large and medium-sized Chinese enterprises have signed MOU with Sierra Leone, but many projects have not followed up. If your enterprises have the intention to participate in the relevant projects, I will give you access directly. Before the MOU was overdue and  no legal effect. we must strengthen practical cooperation because our task is to create well-being of people of both countries. My goal to China is to develop better economy in our country.
