Malawi welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in energy minerals, and machinery industry

Dialogue between Secretary-general of China-Africa Industrial Forum Cheng Zhigang and Mr. Henri. mumba, Malawi's ambassador to China

 

On January 7, 2011,Secretary-General Cheng Zhigang of China Africa Industrial Forum had a deep talks with Deputy ambassador Mr.Henri.mumba  of Malawi to China. The meeting core is 2010 African Energy and Mineral Seminar. Firstly, the  ambassador thanked the Secretary-General for inviting him to participate in 2010 African Energy and Mineral Seminar held by on November 30, 2010.The ambassador  expressed  his thanks for seminar's organizer. Due to the opening of seminar, he knew about Chinese enterprises' interests for investment in Africa. At the same time, he also learned about the new  speed-up development opportunities for African countries. 
 

Ambassador: First of all, Wish you a happy new year and thank you for inviting me to attend "2010 African Energy and Mineral Seminar". I was very impressed for the seminar. For the reason, I invite you to our embassy for the depth of communication and hope we can have some practical and feasible cooperation.

 

Secretary-General: Thank you for your kind invitation and wish you a Happy New Year! China Africa Industrial Forum is the organization guided by Stated-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. Now, the forum is devoting itself to develop China-Africa economic and trade exchanges and cultural exchanges. we make the strategic plan for trade and investment in Africa and organize Chinese enterprises to go to investigation in Africa. For example, the Forum will plan to organize the Chinese enterprises' investigation for four times in Africa.


Ambassador: China established diplomatic relations with Malawi for a little later, Malawi Embassy in China opened in Beijing, on December 26. We Thanks China for attaching great importance to China-Malawi relations, is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and jointly push forward bilateral relations in a healthy and stable development. Malawi's environment is very attractive in terms of attracting foreign investment. Our Government introduced the framework of economic growth and development in Malawi. The Government is very concerned about two areas of mining and energy. The two countries has been rapid growth in trade volume from establishment of diplomatic relations to now. China-Malawi trade volume has reached 95,000,000 dollars in the first 10 months of 2010. The trade volume for bilateral trade volume will exceeded 100,000,000 dollars. When You visit to Malawi, we will prepare for the relevant your inspection trips.


Secretary-General: Comparing with other African countries, the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malawi relatively late, but I believe the China-Malawi friendship and cooperation will not be affected for the later. China Africa Industrial Forum has 10 experts including former Chinese ambassador to Africa. the former ambassador to Africa are familiar with the African situation has the deep feeling for Africa. Our forum also attaches great importance to sincere China-Africa  cooperation. I hope we can have the close contact and can carry out concrete cooperation projects in the future.


Ambassador: Our website is not perfect now, but we hope to cooperate with the China-Africa Cooperation Net to link the related resources and enjoy together  resources and information with China Africa Industrial Forum.


Secretary-General: We are willing to promote in-depth cooperation with Malawi embassy and will actively cooperate according to Malawi embassy's needs. In addition, we are preparing for a book named as Walk into Africa" — China-Africa new Opportunities of Business.  This book will include the business and investment guide on 49 African countries establishing the diplomatic relations with China. At present, we completed 80% of the data collection and also met many ambassadors in-depth level. I hope we can carry out the high degree of cooperation to  promote exchanges. Then, in the future cooperation, you wish China Africa Industrial Forum what to do for Malawi's development?
